whoa, quite long nvr post le hor...aiya. super lazy mah...dats y nw den finally post about batam trip...haha. ps to those who wants the photos...hehe
this trip to batam is for Jubilate III, from 7th to 10th Dec 2008, basically where we will brush up our SYF pieces with the help of the clinicians and conductors. i went to Jubilate II too, during sec 1, to malacca.
DAY ONE :
reached school in the morning to see that everyone is outside the school, at the school gate. well, its sunday so i supposed the sch isn't open. but its so funny la. i mean, ppl pass by to see a group of students at the sch gate. so weird. luckily ms tian has the sch gate's key n we can wait in the sch instead of outside later...i think i had the largest luggage.. so paiseh... >.<
after we reached harbourfront ferry terminal, we waited thr for abt an hr b4 boarding the ferry, then reaching batam waterfront terminal in abt an hr.thr were a lot of problems in the 1st day luhhs. lim win couldn't go to batam wif us coz he nvr apply for visa. n it was onli found out at harbourfront...lin acidentally took photos at the batam immigrations, n the guys thr took her camera n told her to go bk to sinagpore. but heng in the end took bk the cam n was able to clear the immigrations...valerie also had some passport problems at the batam immigrations, lik the passport expired i think. but luckily the tchrs managed to persuade the ppl n valerie dun hav to go bk.
reached purajaya resort at 3plus and we left our stuff at the lobby, and went straight to practice with mr chiau. dat rm we went to was rather small, n it was suppose to be a karaoke rm...=.=" everyone was lik very tired, n keep on sweating until a fan appears. diao. the keyboard had problems and couldn't funtion, but mr chiau have perfect pitch and can conduct us even though it was is first time looking at those scores.. so cool! hehe
after practice had workshop with mr arwin tan on jaakobin. for one of the warmups, he made us sing " i love you so" haha. >.<>
finally went to our resort rms then.. and my roomates are huiting and valerie tan (: at first i tot it will b lik in malacca, whr we stay in apartments, but this was kinda lik hotels, a rm.. but the rm was quite big and nice... so nvm. haha. the opening ceremony was so-so, coz it was juz hearing choirs sing lor. all chiors perform at least twice. once on opening ceremony or friendship concert, then the other on syf presentation.
DAY TWO :
the syf set piece workshop wif mr kwei, whr we learnt how to get the "123,12,12,123" timing for the white horses. dat was reali useful, wif those actions to get timing. i think hav to do dat for months to totally drill it into us. lols.
had workshop wif mr johnny ku, on jaakobin again. *baozi, SHIZI*
performed for friendship concert, sang ondeh ondeh, wak wak gung and you raise me up. was quite nervous la.. coz my legs were kinda shaking when walkin up, but still tried my best to support n stuff. LOLS! well, we didn't sang veri bad, but it wasn't good too...
very little things to say le, coz the rest is juz practice, eating and staying at rms la.. ohya, cup noodles!
DAY THREE :
had mass warm ups wif other choirs under mr foong, then had sectionals.
had workshop with mr arvip priatna on meplalian. changed quite a lot on hw we sing the song.
the syf presentation was cool... sang meplalian and jaakobin. well, we realli improved for the songs, more on jaakobin. hahas. it was reali nice, coz can hear all the choirs sing.. n all sorts oj choirs also hav... bronze, silver, gold, gold wif honours. it was really great after the syf presentation, coz every1 can kinda relax le, n can scream n shout all we want. lols. but syf still nt over yet la :X
most ppl hop rm to slp on the last nite, some go beach wander arnd etc... i wen to the loungue thr wif coco the all...see the guys play billard wif cath.high ppl. haha. den coco and zhuoning were playin the piano, n i played card games wif the asean scholars...aiya..juz hang arnd lor.. slp at abt 3plus batam time.lols. my sis say i lik write compo lik dat. wateva luhhs.
DAY FOUR :
checked out right after breakfast and headed to the orphanage. all of us brought things to donate, mostly stationaries. the resort also donated some mattresses, dat we brought over to the orpanage as well. honestly, the place was even more "run-down" as i tot. i tot dat thr may b at least a place for the children to study, but the place was rather small, n located somewhr amongst the "woods" with things lik a few rms, a small shop dat has some food, and a goat! only some of the rms were tiled/cemented, and the place was mostly filled wif soil... and thr were abt 100ppl thr, and they say dat some of them, children/adults, are "crazy ppl/psycho" and some can even cast black magic.
b4 we brought the mattresses from the resort, i dun think they even hav stuff lik dat luhhs. so we really shld cherish wat we hav nw... played games lik a.e.i.o.u. and lao ying zhua xiao ji wif them. it was realli fun and its nice to see dat they are having fun and enjoyin themselves, although most of us dunno their language. we really feel glad inside to see the smiles on their faces when we gave out the presents... we sang a song entitled ondeh ondeh too. the sound was kinda off, coz we didn't warm up.. some of the ppl even sang along at some parts. haha.
went to the local product shop and mega mall after dat. the plan was to go to local product shop, polo tee shop, n seafood shop only. but thanks to the tchrs, we can go to the mega mall! most ppl bought bags n bags of stuff... lik really quite a lot..haha...i bought a purple ring, a purple top, and a purple shoryts...purple freak, i know.
went straight to the immigrations and went bk after dat. the ferry ride bk was rockier den wen we took ferry to batam. almost vomited sia.
